Along the rolling Stillwater fields where one of the great battles of independence was fought, the Yankee Doodle refrain may have stirred the old bones of British Gen. John Burgoyne.
Burgoyne could have been a bit unhappy listening Friday - on another Fourth of July holiday - to a recital of the Declaration of Independence by Timothy Cavanaugh of Schenectady and the haunting patriotic tunes of folk lyricists, George and Vaughn Ward of Rexford.
