Librarians accused the Reagan administration Tuesday of undermining the flow of vital information to citizens through proposed cuts in federal library aid and new restrictions on government publications.
The administration's proposal to eliminate federal aid for the construction of public libraries would create "a disaster, pure and simple," E.J. Josey of the New York State Library told a House subcommittee.
