Instant credibility was awarded to the OTB Open tennis tournament next summer when it was learned Tuesday that Tim Mayotte, Jimmy Arias and Paul Annacone will be among those competing in the Grand Prix event at Central Park.
The trio of "big names" came somewhat unexpectedly to tournament director Nitty Singh, who had struggled in the past to attract a prime drawing card.
Now, she has at least three and possibly more.
Mayotte, ranked No.9 in the world, has won more than $1 million in prize money. Winner of five Grand Prix events this year, he also played on the United States' Davis Cup team.
