Manson disciple Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, sentenced to life for trying to shoot President Ford, was recaptured Friday near the prison she fled two days earlier after she stepped out of the woods and was spotted by a patrol, authorities said.
"There is a Santa Claus after all," Ron Burkhart, warden at the Alderson Federal Prison for Women, said shortly after Fromme was caught.
Fromme escaped Wednesday night from the prison, where she is serving a life sentence for trying to assassinate Ford 12 years ago.
