Sep. 13--Fill 'er up means more than gas these days at local service stations and truck stops, where travelers are filling tummies with brand-name tacos, hot dogs and hamburgers.
Fast-food restaurant chains such as Taco Bell Corp. of Irvine and Wienerschnitzel, owned by Newport Beach-based Gilardi Group, are increasingly selling food to travelers via gasoline stations and convenience stores. It's one of the latest twists for fast-food companies in search of non-traditional restaurant sites.
