Democrats - many of them young, aggressive and promising to improve the quality of life in the suburbs - stunned old-guard Republicans in town after town across the Capital District in Tuesday's elections.
The scenario was repeated throughout New York state as voters - concerned about topics ranging from local issues to financial stability - unseated long-entrenched members of the GOP.
