Tonight,
Hope House Inc. celebrates 20 years in the people business.
In that time, Hope House has given thousands of drug and alcohol abusers a second chance. It has returned children to parents who thought them lost to addiction.
Hope House started small. A few substance abusers met with counselors at Providence House in the South End, a social services center run by the Rev. Howard Hubbard, now bishop of the Albany Roman Catholic Diocese.
Tonight at an anniversary dinner, the bishop will present several public service awards to those who have made contributions to Hope House.
