Through public-private partnerships, volunteer participation, grassroots efforts, municipal cost savings and innovation, five cities made their communities better places to live and were rewarded with the Silver level of the Awards for Municipal Excellence.
These cities, along with the Gold Winners of the awards, were honored at the Congress of Cities in Reno, Nev., last month.
