FRAMINGHAM, Mass. _ President Clinton brought his campaign to save endangered liberal icons here Thursday, joining Sen. Edward M. Kennedy at two spirited events in an attempt to demonstrate that the Democrat who called himself ``old Kennedy'' still has the verve to serve six more years in the Senate.
In what was billed as a non-partisan White House function, Clinton chose the John F. Kennedy Gymnasium at Framingham High School to stage the signing of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, a $60 billion school aid measure that Kennedy, who is in a tough reelection fight with GOP opponent Mitt Romney, had a lead role in crafting.
