Keith Sirois, president and CEO of Tampa-based Checkers Drive-In Restaurants Inc., said last week that he sees metro Detroit as a market for sales growth and additional restaurants even though the state's economic woes have been hurting restaurant sales.
"We're making a major investment in Michigan,'' Sirois said. "Michigan is targeted as a growth market for us.''
Checkers, owner of both Checkers and Rally's fast-food restaurants, completed an exterior makeover of its 19 local restaurants earlier this month, has hired about 100 additional managers and employees to handle an expected sales increase and is planning to open 10 more restaurants ...
