MIDLAND brewer Marston's toasted another takeover today with a successful pounds 155 million swoop for Eldridge Pope.
The Wolverhampton-based company strengthened its empire with a deal which will add 135 pubs, mainly in the South of England, to its stable.
The new acquisition includes the Eldridge Pope business bought by investment company SDA Ltd in 2004, together with the Que Pasa High Street brand and wholesale drinks distributor Fairdeed.
Ralph Findlay, chief executive of Marston's, said today: "We are delighted with the acquisition of Eldridge Pope.
