Capital Region Magazine Inc., publisher of the monthly Capital Region, has launched an effort to sell new shares in the company to raise $750,000 in capital.

Dardis McNamee, editor and associate publisher, said Tuesday the stock sale would be used to pay "a bunch of bank debts" and cover future operating losses of the magazine, the first issue of which was published in December 1985.

Capital Region distributes about 42,000 issues, with 33,000 of themsent to supporters of the public television station WMHT for which it provides program listings.
