Albany police said Wednesday that they have been unable to confirm the existence of the "Albany Tea Party" but are taking precautions to prevent future vandalism such as the damage to the city's Tricentennial statue.
Sgt. Robert Wolfgang, police department spokesman, would not say Wednesday what those precautions are. But he said patrols would focus on city landmarks, including the Tricentennial clock in front of the state Capitol, which an anonymous caller to The Times Union Tuesday identified as the "Albany Tea Party" group's next target.
