The skies opened up Sunday, drenching the clothes but not the spirits of the thousands who attended the "Open House '87" at the Saratoga Race Course.
While the clouds and rain reduced the expected attendance, track officials said they were pleased with the turnout at the eighth annual open house - the kickoff celebration for the start of the 120th racing season Wednesday.
More than 18,600 people went to the event, which track officials say may preceed of one of the biggest months in Saratoga racing.
