SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Director Jay Stroh today announced the availability of $1.5 million in grants to help local communities address alcohol-related crime. 
"Alcohol is a contributing factor in many communities to the high incidence of drug dealing, public inebriation, drunk driving, underage drinking, assaults and other conditions that breed neighborhood decay," said Stroh.  "As part of the Wilson Administration's anti-crime initiative, we intend to help local sheriff and police departments develop programs to deal with these situations."
