The Mademoiselles Tribot-Laspiere, Anne and Armelle, who taught French for three decades at Albany Academy for Girls and Doane Stuart School, are bidding au revoir to Albany next month.
The sisters, who never married, are taking early retirement to return to their beloved Pyrenees Mountains in southern France, where they will live in a farmhouse they bought together.
The sisters recently recalled, in lilting, animated French accents, their memories of teaching a couple generations of students and the changes they witnessed in youth over time.
