The Town Board will take initial steps toward examining the feasibility of a traffic study of the busy Route 146 corridor tonight, according to town officials.
The board Monday night approved a 207,000-square-foot shopping center for an area west of the Clifton Country Mall, and several other large-scale proposals are in the works for the corridor. That development has put the spotlight on the question of whether the roadway can accommodate the increased traffic.
Board member Ralph LaPorta said Wednesday he will seek to initiate a traffic study of the roadway in the vicinity of the malls.
