By next year, Joe Nieuwendyk might complete a trip that began in Whitby, Ontario, went through Ithaca, and landed him in Calgary, Alberta, all in a span of about 40 months.
Even the most inexperienced travel agent couldn't send a traveler that far off course, unless the client was playing hockey games in the meantime. And that's what Nieuwendyk, generally considered the Eastern College Athletic Conference's best player, has been doing.
