Buyer beware, the state attorney general's office is cautioning consumers who have been invited to buy into a Lake George-area resort.
Consumers who have responded to letters saying they have won prizes that can be picked up at the Lake George/Schroon Valley Resort have been pressured to buy a membership on the day they visit.
Century Outdoor Resorts Inc., a Florida- based development company, bought the former campground site in Warrensburg five months ago. Since then, according to the state attorney general's office, there have been 24 complaints. Fourteen of the complaints have been closed; 10 remain open.
