In case you haven't noticed, it's good to be Irish, and not just on St. Patrick's Day. More than a decade ago, the Irish economy caught fire, transforming the small country from one of the poorest in Europe to one of the most affluent. In the mid-'90s, the press called Ireland the "Celtic Tiger," likening it to the Asian Tigers--the hot economies of Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea.
