A LIVERPOOL mother today told of her heartbreak at losing her second daughter to cystic fibrosis.

Pauline Sweeney watched as her 24-year-old daughter Rachael lost her fight for life.

Rachel's twin sister Rebecca died of the disease when they were just six months old.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease which affects the lungs and digestive system and sufferers have an average life expectancy of 31 years.
