Firefighters will meet tonight
to discuss their reaction to the suspension of Chief Donald Espey, a popular leader penalized for allowing a fire truck to be used in a volunteer's wedding.
Espey, chief of Halfmoon-Waterford Fire District No. 1, was suspended Aug. 17 for allowing a fire truck to guide guests from the wedding of volunteer Frank Brammer to the fire hall, where the reception was held.
His suspension is to last at least until Sept. 12, when the board of fire commissioners next meets.
