Retailers throughout the Capital District couldn't keep up with the heat-driven demand, and now most shelves are empty.
The bad news for procrastinators, however, is good news for business, which in some cases has reported 50 percent gains in air conditioner and fan sales over last year.
The hot spell has also perpetuated work for repairmen. In some cases, it might take a week to get your cooling unit fixed.
