The dean of the Albany Law School predicted Wednesday that Judge Robert H. Bork would be confirmed for the Supreme Court because Bork's qualifications and integrity would outweigh objections to his ideology when the confirmation comes to a full vote of the U.S. Senate.
The dean, Martin Belsky, who only recently decided he is against Bork's nomination, said it has been 80 years since the Senate used ideological tests on nominees to the highest court.
Instead, confirmation debates in recent history have centered on the nominees qualifications and moral integrity, he said.
