"Generation of Swine." By Hunter Thompson. Summit Books. 304 pp. $18.95.
"Generation of Swine" is a catchy title. "Gonzo Papers, Vol. 2 - Tales of Shame and Degradation in the '80s" is not a bad subtitle, either. Do you suppose San Francisco Examiner columnist Hunter Thompson was trying to grab our attention by so-naming this collection of his columns from December '85 through March '88?
I freely admit I had to look up the word "gonzo" for clarification. Webster's defines it as "bizarre, unrestrained ... specifically, designating a style of personal journalism so characterized."
Well, if the shoe fits ....
