Ask anyone in Hollywood. Adrian Lyne is an actor's director.
The rest of the world might find that a little hard to swallow. To date, his body of work includes only three feature-length films: "Foxes," "Flashdance" and "9 1/2 Weeks." The last thing anybody remembers about any of them is the acting.
"Flashdance" has earned its place in the annals of music video with clever use of rock music, water and Jennifer Beals' body double; kinky "9 1/2 Weeks" didn't do much for the reputations of its stars, Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger; most people found it more incomprehensible than erotic.
