Private fund- raisers in Marine Lt. Col. Oliver North's contra support network doled out $2.8 million from a secret Cayman Islands bank account to a wide array of friends, including $615,000 to a rebel chieftain, $29,000 to a former Tennessee congressman and $5,000 to a "Catholic priest," according to congressional documents.
The Cayman Islands account, set up April 30, 1985, was controlled by Richard Miller, who pleaded guilty May 6, 1986 to felony charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States.
