You can't do it with mirrors, the old saying assures us. But with the second sequel to the hit "Poltergeist" they try anyway - literally and figuratively. They merely end up breaking a lot of glass and shattering any chance at suspense and thrills. The first "Poltergiest" - a huge hit six years ago - took place in the California suburbs, and the second in the countryside. "Poltergeist III" is set in an ultramodern Chicago high-rise supercondo which is visited by the spooks and the special effects department.
The star once again is little Carol Anne, played by Heather O'Rourke, 11, veteran of all three films who died ...
