U.S. Magistrate Ralph W. Smith Jr. ruled Tuesday that accused drug trafficker Alan Bradford is a threat to society and ordered the defendant detained without bail.
Bradford, 30, of Illinois,
one of 12 defendants accused in connection with a drug ring that smuggled cocaine from New York City to the Capital District and Midwest, is charged with conspiracy to distrbute a narcotic. Assistant U.S. Attorney Bernard J. Malone had argued against bail, claiming that Bradford had on several occasions displayed guns and was likely to flee the area if released.
