Cartoonist John Caldwell says anyone rifling throughhis pockets might get the wrong idea.
"There are little bits of note paper in every pocket," he said recently. "If I were to drop dead, they'd think I was a spy. It's real cryptic."
Anybody riffling through his latest collection of cartoons might also wonder about this guy.
I mean, does he have a hang-up about desert islands and hand puppets, or what? And why so many cartoons featuring oddball beggars on the sidewalk? Why cartoons of Quasimodo? What's this guy trying to say?
