With summer will come the beginning of the end: The first of the final round of layoffs at the Ford plant that dominates the north end of this, the geographically smallest village in New York state.
Men and women who built millions of radiators and heater cores and leaf springs for Henry Ford's fleet will either retire or look for other jobs. By November, the giant complex will stand vacant.
And still, there is talk of hope.
