Jan. 26--CHIPLEY -- Everett Newcomb's anger did him in twice Thursday when it led to his conviction for murder and being shocked by deputies.

After an hour of deliberation, six jurors convicted Newcomb as charged of second-degree murder. Circuit Judge Allen Register then sentenced Newcomb to life in prison.

"Everybody can believe what they want to believe," Newcomb told Register prior to sentencing. "You said that I was guilty for a murder, so I will prove and show you how I would commit one."

Newcomb said his life was already over, "so I might as well show you my way of doing (a murder); then you can compare it." ...
