For many employers, providing day-care services to attract and retain workers is no longer just a competitive edge. It is a necessity.
To reduce employee turnover and attract the most reliable workers, Midon Restaurant Inc., which operates Burger King restaurants in the Capital District, started offering free day care to its employees four months ago.
Midon, which operates 19 Burger Kings with 700 employees locally, will spend about $50,000 for the program's first year, according to company president Donald Cepiel.
