In October a 24-year-old convenience store manager in Troy was shot at close range in the back of the head. The gunman fled with $5,000. Four months later, a second convenience store clerk was shot and killed behind the counter of a Cumberland Farms store in Colonie. Between the two murders and since the last one, there has been a high incidence of convenience store holdups in the Capital District.In the past five days, two armed robberies occurred within 15 hours of each other in Rotterdam; a Mini Chopper market was robbed in Schenectady and a few hours later two men held up a gas station; and in Albany Tuesday night a ...
