The City Council Thursday amended an ordinance to protect dogs and cats as well as sheep, horses, cattle, swine, fowl, ducks, geese, swans and rabbits from dangerous dog attacks.
In between chuckles, the council unanimously voted to amend Troy's dangerous dog ordinance by eliminating the word "domestic" from the description of the types of creatures a dog must attack before the canine is to be considered dangerous.
Last fall, when city residents were campaigning against pit bulls, the council had approved a dangerous dog ordinance, which defined a "dangerous dog" and set fines for owners of such canines who ...
