When the St. Ambrose junior 'A' boys CYO basketball team plays host to St. Bridgid's of Watervliet Saturday, it will try to complete an undefeated league season and extend one of the area's most amazing winning streaks.
The St. Ambrose junior 'A' teams haven't lost a Troy CYO league game in five seasons, a streak that stands at 65 games.
And since losing their opening game in a non-league tournament, 41-39 to St. Jude's of Wynantskill, the boys - 13 and 14-year-old eighth graders from several area schools - have won their last 22 games overall this season. That streak includes a 48-47 squeaker over St. ...
