Jan. 28--Trumpets heralded as Carol Thompson "Kit" Gallagher and a man dressed in a kilt led a procession into Cipriani's restaurant across from Grand Central Station in New York City. People stood as the 76-year-old Owensboro woman walked by the tables at this elegant soiree.
It was the 250th anniversary of the St. Andrew's Society of the State of New York, and Gallagher, an associate professor at Owensboro Community & Technical College, was a special guest at the Nov. 26 banquet for the Scottish organization.
