Jan. 28--After several fallow seasons the Philadelphia Phillies' farm system began to bear some fruit last summer. Overall, the organization ranked eighth (out of 30) in terms of winning percentage at the minor league level, and Class A Lakewood won its first South Atlantic League championship.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre produced the best record in the Class AAA International League. And after a dreadful start the Double-A Reading Phillies found themselves on the periphery of the playoff chase.
