Jan. 28--For parents in Apison and Signal Mountain, the focus on the "three R's" has temporarily given way to new letters: "Three F's and a T."
The more than $80 million that Hamilton County will spend on new high school construction for Signal Mountain and the East Brainerd/Apison area covers Facility, Faculty, Furniture and Textbooks. But if students are to have microscopes in biology labs, books on the library shelves, more than one computer per classroom and an athletic field for practice after school, the communities will have to ante up money of their own.
