Hidden in the shadows of the controversy surrounding the sale of Paradise Valley Hospital to a for-profit company and a discouraging Medicare report are two major projects that could help revitalize National City and the money-losing hospital there.
Adventist Health, the current nonprofit owners of the 301-bed hospital--a community anchor in its own right--is planning what National City Mayor Ron Morrison calls "a very limited commodity within Southern California."
