Jan. 28--Though the course may change sometimes, rivers always reach the sea.

There is something lyrical in this certainty -- an innate reassurance that evokes both mystery and revelation.

A river is born of land it shapes. All it touches is changed. It is changed by all it touches.

So it is with the Peace River.

But through the course of time, the Peace River that now reaches the sea is no longer what it once was.

The 105-mile long river that reaches the sea at Charlotte Harbor is the aggregate summary of its 235,000-square-mile basin.
