Feb. 1--CHAUMONT -- If proposed 300-home subdivision Crescent Acres comes to fruition, it won't be until substantial upgrades are made to the sewer system, and that probably won't be this spring, according to engineers.
Robert J. Campany of Bernier, Carr & Associates, Watertown, said the village's sewer system was designed to accommodate about 300 homes, and it services 277 now.
"You could build a dozen or 20 homes, but it wasn't designed to accept 70 or 80 or 300 homes," he said.
