According to industry consultants Applied Market Information, the injection moulding industry in Spain and Portugal has been one of Western Europe's better performing markets over recent years. Polymer demand from Iberian moulders has grown on average by more than 3% per annum since 2000, compared to just 1% pa for Western Europe as a whole.
However, AMI also points out that market conditions have been just as challenging for Iberian moulders as elsewhere in Europe, and these growth rates represent a considerable slowdown on those seen in the 1990s.
