Feb. 2--Ladybugs are covering the kitchen walls and can be found throughout the house. What do you recommend for control? If it were summer, I would catch them and then release them in the garden. M.H., Euless
You probably have an imported ladybug that is native to Japan. The Asian lady beetle (Harmonia axyridis) is beneficial except for the nuisance factor of swarming indoors. The bugs can be swept up and tossed outdoors, but the best technique is to suck them up with a vacuum cleaner.
