SHERMAN OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 1, 1994--The Radio and Television News Association of Southern California has filed a brief urging Judge Lance Ito to permit continued televised coverage of the O.J. Simpson trial.
The brief was filed at the request of the court, in connection with a hearing set for Nov. 7 at 9 a.m. in Judge Ito's courtroom, on the question of whether alleged misconduct by media outlets justifies terminating camera coverage of the case.
RTNA's brief argues that pulling the plug on televised coverage would do nothing to solve the problems identified by Judge Ito, which involve news leaks and publication of false reports.
