Feb. 4--Things are a lot slower at the Emmons Guitar Company than they were 20 years ago.
In those days a crew of eight made and sold 20 pedal steel guitars a month to some of the biggest names in the music business, mostly country music.
These days they shoot for two to three guitars a week, and the staff of two is parttime, Ron Lashley Jr., the son of co-founder Ron Lashley Sr., said in an interview.
But the class of the clientele has not changed.
