As a woman who went from boot camp short hair to waist-length hair in order to avoid paying exorbitant fees for hairdressing (over $200 a year here if you use the less-expensive salons), I have developed some techniques for the "hair impaired" who, like me, are not handy with their tresses.
I have been successful, enough so that many who see me at work, where we have regulations about hair (no more than 1/2 inch over the collar and not more than 1/4 inch over ears), do not know I even have any hair at all.
