Article: Strong showing for grocery stores in November.(Industry overview)(Statistical table)

Sales at the nation's grocery stores (mostly supermarkets) during November were up 6.3% from the same month last year, and were up 4.2% from the prior month, at $48.8 billion. The 6.3% Increase over the same month last year was the largest such increase since March of 2005.

Through the first 11 months of 2006, sales at the nation's grocery stores totaled $439.2 billion, 4.1% more than the same period of 2005.
