Article: Tomato products.(MARKETS)(purchasing)

U.S. tomato production for 2006 finished at just over 10.1 million tons, according to delivery figures from the Processing Tomato Advisory Board, a 5% increase compared to 2005.

Preparations for next year's crop are well underway and there are continued concerns over the rising input costs for farmers, which could result in decreased acreage and higher contract prices in 2007.
