ABSTRACT
Temporal changes in land-use exhibit considerable influence on soil properties. Our objective was to evaluate the impact of land-use practices within landscape positions on selected soil properties at Ciales, Guanica and Luquillo forest ecozones of Puerto Rico. At each landscape positions, ridges, slopes, and foothills were delineated to measure soil moisture content using Time Domain Reflectometry. Soil core samples were collected from 0-5, 5-10 and 10-15 cm depths, air-dried, processed, and analyzed for pH and exchangeable Ca, Mg, Al, and Fe contents.
